Training

  • Training the industrial personnel is undoubtedly the most crucial activity that holds the key for the quality management and business excellence. ISI has played a pioneering and predominant role in training the Indian industrial personnel on quality management methodologies.

  • The SQC & OR Unit, Hyderabad so far conducted about 2000 inplant training programmes across a variety of industries. A special one year full time training course for BHEL engineers designed and several batches of their engineers were trained in this course.

We offer the best training programmes in the field with our expert faculty having vast and rich experience in industrial consultancy. Some attractive features of our programmes are:

  • We design our training programmes tailor made for the participants. Suitable data are collected through pilot plant visits to provide live examples in these programmes.

  • Most of our training programmes are followed by project studies. Participants are divided into groups and are asked to identify problems from their work areas. With our continual guidance, they resolve the problems using the tools/techniques learnt during the training programmes.

  • We are perhaps the only institution organizing training programmes in which participants are trained on statistical and other relevant software in a workshop kind of atmosphere.

Types of Training Programmes

Inplant Training Programmes

  • Top Management Awareness Programmes: The purpose of these programmes is to bring awareness among the top and senior managers about the quality management methodologies such as TQM, SPC, Six Sigma, QFD, Industrial Experimentation and so on. The duration of these programmes is usually one day and in rare cases extended to two or three days.

  • Programmes for the Middle Managers and Executives: People who actually implement the quality management methodologies are the middle managers and the executives. Therefore, we train them on the tools, techniques and how to apply them in their work areas with live examples. The duration of these programmes usually varies from 3 to 5 days depending up on the contents.

  • Programmes for Shopfloor Supervisors and Operators: These purpose of these programmes is basically to motivate the supervisors and operators. The quality control and process control tools/techniques are introduced at a very elementary level with the help of examples from their own areas of work. The duration is usually 2 to 3 days.

General Training Programmes

  • The purpose of these programmes is to create a general awareness about the latest echniques/tools in the areas of quality management and operations research. These are open to industrial personnel as well as to people from all other institutions. A training calendar is brought out at the beginning of each year.

  • Awareness on ISO 9000 (for all levels in English and for workers in Telugu, if required) and QS 9000 and ISO 14000

  • Documentation and Internal Audit for ISO/QS 9000
